Stephen Kern was born in New Haven, CT and grew up in Snellville, GA. Jacy Henry was born in Snellville, GA and grew up in Maysville, GA. Stephen and Jacy’s lives growing up were very similar. Both loved Heavymetal and playing video games etc! They were also musicians as well. Stephen played Drums and Jacy played Bass guitar. In Highschool (2004) the band Stephen was in (Luporum) played a show at the Masquerade with big bands Bad Acid Trip and Motograter (same singer as Five Finger Death Punch). Jacy also played in a band. They even played at a Walmart (portable stage setup).

Fast forward to around 2019. Stephen was working on a solo demo, playing Rhythm guitar and Drums. He put an ad out looking for musicians to play live with. Jacy answered that ad. They met up and became friends! Jacy heard the demo a guy named Robert did for Stephen and said he can record it better. The demo became an EP a year later that Jacy recorded called Majestic Kingdom (Power Metal). Which features former Theocracy Lead guitarist Val Allen Wood! The EP got signed to Sliptrick Records. Stephen’s first record deal.

Stephen would get invited to be on a local TV show (People TV, a Comcast channel). Stephen made a rare appearance playing Rhythm guitar live and Jacy on Bass. Their friends Preston and Gunnar to help on Lead and Drums. Jacy started his own Recording studio, Nebulous Music Studio in Royston, GA. Jacy and Stephen both liked filming other stuff as well. They would make silly skits and also had a podcast interviewing Actors/famous people (Seinfeld Actress Athena Massey, Vegas Vacation Actress Shae D’lyn, Hall & Oates Keyboardist Eliot Lewis etc). They later would step up their camera equipment. Going from camcorders to Pro 4K cameras. Jacy was really good with the technical aspects of things (audio, levels, visual etc). Stephen was really into the acting aspect and casting etc.

One random day Stephen said to Jacy, “Dude, now that we have good ass cameras, would you want to make a full movie movie?? Like going all out!” Jacy said sure! Stephen said bro, I’ve had a movie idea for many years now. ChooChoo McGovney. A slapstick style Comedy, main character being a big dude lol. He said to Jacy, would you like to play ChooChoo? Jacy said yeah sure! Stephen then said you can also be a Director and help write it. The Comedy material in the movie is 50/50! They combined their last names and Henry/Kern Films was born! The rest is history!
